About Us
Our Story
Gavin is an avid reader and budding entrepreneur.
He was considered a "late to start" reader, having had a bumpy
start with moderate to severe hearing loss and pressure to
memorize sight words in Kindergarten. Once he caught on,
he scoured books about far fetched lands, biology, bugs,
and multiple book series such as Goosebumps,
Diary of A Wimpy Kid, Cinder and Harry Potter.
At 11 years old, Gavin continually asked his mom to open a
book and candy store. He wrote a one-page business plan for
his dream business and saved seed money by selling
unwanted toys, books and doing additional chores for pay.
He came up with the name Cult of The Bookworm, and with
a little guidance, he designed the Cult of The Bookworm logo!!
He and his mom set out to find a vendor space to connect with
other kids, sell books, candies and toys. His first (consignment spot)
is at The Emporium in Largo, and next, they secured a fun,
colorful space at The Cosa Collective in Belleair.
